My name is Erik Storteboom. I am an amateur, enthusiast Photographer who is also interested in Film, Digital Media, and IT. I love going out around the City and taking photos of really anything. I sometimes take pictures of the most random things, but they are random things that catch my eye that I find interesting. I love shooting at awkward angles and getting "up close and personal" with my subjects, which usually aren't people. Sometimes I even end up on the ground just to get a shot, and it's usually completely worth it. I love editing my photos and have usually edited all the pictures I post at least a little, its crazy how different, and how much better a photo can look after changing things like the White Balance, increasing or reducing the shadows, highlights, contrast, clarity etc. As far as Film, Digital Media, and IT, they are hobbies that I am also very interested in but I'm not as skilled in some of it as I am in photography because I have not practiced them as much. I do hope to improve my skills and learn things like how to code, colour grade video, and things like that.
Equipment
I use mainly only two things, technically three but one of them is pretty standard. The camera that I use is a Canon 70D with a 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Kit lens (just recently bought a 50mm f/1.8 STM). I always shoot RAW format, never JPEG, because RAW is much better for editing, it saves all of the information instead of compressing it like a JPEG does. That brings me to the program I use to edit. I use Adobe Lightroom CC to edit all of my photos, I started with photoshop before I knew about Lightroom but then switched. The reason that I switched is that Lightroom is a much simpler program to use and get into because of the way things are laid out, pretty much everything is done just by adjusting the value on a slider. The other standard piece of equipment I was talking about was my tripod, I don't always bring it with me but if I think I'll use it then I do.
